Vision Song Contest

The Vision Song Contest 10 was the tenth edition of the Vision Song Contest. It took place in the Stadion Narodowy, in Warsaw, Poland, after Poland's victory at the ninth edition in London with the song "Naucz Mnie", performed by Sarsa. This was the first time the contest had taken place in Poland. The contest consisted of of two semi-finals on 20 and 27 May and the final on 6 June 2017, with all three live shows hosted by Doda and Margaret.

Fifty-five countries participated in the contest. Curacao made their debut and Malta, South Korea, Czech Republic, South Africa, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jamaica, Armenia, Lebanon and the United States returned after absences from recent contests. Serbia, Faroe Islands, Norway, The Philippines, India, Indonesia, Suriname, Austria, Barbados and Croatia withdrew from the contest.

Twenty-six countries participated in the grand final. Curacao managed for the final for the first time, in their first attempt.

The contest took place in Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw, following Poland's victory at the ninth edition in London with the song "Naucz Mnie", performed by Sarsa. Stadion Narodowy has a capacity of approximately 58.000 attendees.

Bidding phase Edit

Host broadcaster TVN announced on 18 April 2017 that they had choosen three possible host venue's, and announced that there would be a 'Host City Battle' where the participating delegations could vote for their favourite venue.

Format Edit

The preminilary dates for the contest were announced on 2 May 2017, with the semi-finals took place on 20 and 27 May and the final on 6 June 2017.

After the new group system used in the ninth edition, the host team decided to change the system back to two semi finals. Also the team decided to cancel the wildcard round, as there was a new team member announced.

Russia and the United States joined the VSC Team, while Denmark left the team.
